Privacy policy
This explains, in plain language, what happens to the personal information you send through our website, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
This is a draft prepared for a demonstration website. The practice must review it, complete its details and have it checked by a legal adviser before the site is used for real patients.
Who is responsible
Blinkwater Dental, Higgovale, Cape Town, is the responsible party for the information collected through this website. To contact us about your information, use the enquiry form on the home page and mention privacy. The practice's information officer details must be added here before launch.
What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the reason for your enquiry and, if you choose, a preferred day
- any message you write
- your confirmation that we may use these details to reply
Please do not put medical history or identity numbers in the message box. Health details are better discussed with the practice directly.
Why we collect it
To reply to your enquiry and to arrange a visit if you want one. We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell them.
Our legal basis
You consent when you tick the box on the form. You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did with your details before you withdrew.
Where it is stored and who sees it
Enquiries are stored securely with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. If email notifications are switched on, a copy is sent to the practice through the email provider Resend. These providers process information on our behalf and may store it on servers outside South Africa. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
Your enquiry is seen only by the people at the practice who need it to reply.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry only as long as needed to deal with it and for any period the law requires. If you become a patient, your clinical records are kept under the separate rules that apply to healthcare providers.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and scripts from public content networks, so your browser contacts those services when you visit.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, to see it, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also object to our use of it. Send your request through the enquiry form.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes
If we change this policy, the new version will be posted on this page.
